Wednesday Whim - Rupture

From the first moment I saw these images, I was enamored. The images are by artist, Alan Sailer, a relatively "obscure" photographer (as he prefers to be known as). He takes photos of "exploding" objects with a home built camera in his garage. The images are so fantastical and colorful that your eye can't help but observe what is happening.

As I perused Alan's flickr site, I then started to Google search other exploding images and I came across another artist known as Martin Klimas. He also captures exploding items, but there is a fundamental difference between the men. Where Alan's images capture the act of destruction, Martin's images capture the "transition" from peace to chaos (as described in his interview here). In fact, you may notice that Martin's photos have serene moments in one part of the images and then havoc in other parts.

What do you think? Notice anything? See nothing? See something?
