Pinky

Dress: H&M (old), Chambray jacket: Derek Lam x Kohl's, Sandals: Target, Accessories: Target hat, Aldo's sunglasses, J.Crew necklace, vintage and Alisa Michelle via Hautelook bracelets, Calvin Klein watch, Coach Legacy Penny Purse via Ruelala

Growing up, I was never "that girl" girl who professed an adoration for the color pink. I was on the purple train, then moved to blue and then back to purple. But, based on some of the accessories and clothes I own as an adult, I seem to be fond of pink. Who would have thought?!

I haven't worn this fun H&M dress enough. I've owned it for at least two years but I still love the print, the vibrant color and the fit. For such an inexpensive dress, it has amazing structure!

Rosa Clandestino

The fashion line by Silvia Arguello (called Rosa Clandestino) is new to the states and it sure is looking fab. Made in Italy, the line brings a definitive European flair, attention to detail, beautiful material and sophistication. Designer, Silvia Arguello has a very fashionable background having moved to Paris after college and landing a job at Emanuel Unagaro. She moved to Milano four years later and received her masters degree in Fashion Accessories at Marangoni Institute.

By all accounts, she's going to have a MAH-JAH career.  Personally, I'm loving the jumpsuits and the 3D floral details. What do you think?

More Love

Shirt: Popbasic (c/o), Jacket: Lucca Couture Kids, Skirt: H&M (last seen here), Heels: Gap (old but similar), Accessories: Karen Walker Anywhere sunglasses, earrings via Nordstrom, BCBG necklace, gifted Jade bracelet (similar), Michael Kors watch

You may remember this amazing skirt from this post where I was absolutely thrilled to finally own this pretty number. There is some serious ladylike flair going on with this skirt that I can't help but wear something that will complement the vibe and not contrast it. While I still lust after this skirt's mustard colored sister, I love that I can wear this creamy white version through any season. I kept my look relatively simple in the accessories department since I didn't need much fuss.

Hope your week is going well so far. Only one more day until Friday!

Wednesday Whim - Comic Book Portraits

all images via Sandra Chevrier via Hi Consumption

Did any of you read comic books as a kid? I wasn't a complete nerd about it but I had several collections and totally enjoyed going to the comic book store. My most girly collection was my Barbie comics...I even had one signed by the artist! But, I also loved the Spiderman, Batman and X-Men series. I loved reading them over and over again. Yea, I'm sure I wasn't a nerd about it.

This history lesson about me is a large reason why I'm so attracted to this art from Montreal-based Sandra Chevrier. She uses comics with male superheroes (i.e. Superman, Batman, The Green Lantern) to collage over the drawings of females. She covers up a majority of the face, leaving only the eyes or mouth exposed. It's a definitive message of female power - however you wish to interpret it. No matter the message you read into the art, the series is a beautiful one, albeit unconventional.

Love All Around

Love T-shirt: Zoe Karssen, Skirt: Derek Lam x Kohl's, Jacket: H&M 'Off Duty' Collection, Heels: Prabal Gurung x Target, Accessories: Curtis Kulig x UO 'Love Me' beanie, Karen Walker Anywhere sunglasses, INPINK druzy necklace (30% off with code: ADORN30), Marc x Marc Jacobs watch, Catbird NYC and vintage rings, Minusey sequin bag (old)

So much of my life is fast-paced that for a while now I've felt out of touch with the (little) things that make me happy. Things like reading on the weekend, writing in my journal or just singing (terribly) in my car while I drive. I want to be so active that I forget to enjoy things.

I figured I might create some positive energy with positive words like "love." I noticed I happened to own not only a t-shirt with the word but also a beanie. Perhaps this figurative circle effect of positive affirmation will work!
